Because, turning trash into treasure.

Black is not exactly the most exciting colour in the colour wheel – it is drab and leaves little to imagination when it comes to styling. The ones who stand by it will often dress head-to-toe in black and the ones who concur that it gives a slimming silhouette will pile on layers insofar as its volume becomes unflattering.

One of the reasons you would hear why people embrace black is because it is easy – it is easy to work with and it is foolproof for making most look good. However what one calls easy, another calls lazy; what one assumes is good looking, another doesn’t – but I digress.

That said, there are ways of wearing black and still look interesting. Next time, try

1) introducing texture which will give the outfit another dimension (this jacket is made from a trash-bag like fabric)
2) adding an element of colour contrast (make the outfit pop with a neon belt)
3) pairing with light colour items (which will allow the the black to stand out)
