Many articles have been written about the understatement of navy and while more men are choosing this shade over black, there is still a lacking number adorning this easy-to-wear colour.

Navy is a neutral colour that exudes more richness than black and comes in light or dark versions. It is easy to work with in terms of pairing with existing or future items. It can create an effective contrast with vibrant colours and prints or expand a neutral-colour theme.

When you decide to put away the black pieces and adorn navy instead, try

1) tying a contrast colour jacket over your waist (to break up the navy if you are wearing a navy top and bottom)
2) including (navy) micro-prints (to add a point of difference)
3) using a backpack (to create a contrast between the luxury and utility)
