The conversation on shorts and jacket combination has been tackled a few times but curious questions still abound. The ultimate burning question is “are you hot or are you cold?” When it comes to menswear, which is based on functionality and practicality, this style combo would appear to make no sense.

While it is true that I dress for aesthetic (but I’m also practical for a fashionista – I don’t believe in wearing a jacket with three sleeves just because it has become #fashion), let’s note that mother nature has a way of determining one’s attire.

The important thing to understand is jackets come in different fabrics and different weight. A heavy wool coat is suited for autumn and winter while a nylon windbreaker can be worn on a cool spring or breezy summer day. Jacket with shorts is also a style hack that can take ur attire to the next level.

Of course on days like those, you can stick to shorts since legs have a smaller mass and require less time to heat up. When time comes for you to show off your pins on a jacket-wearing cool day, try

1) going for a pair of slim shorts (this will accentuate those sexy pins that you have been working on)

2) sticking with a dressed-down dapper look (so throw in a button up shirt to contrast the shorts)

3) wearing sneakers (giving that casual yet expensive sports luxe look)
