Men’s knitwear have traditionally come in the style of long sleeve cardigans or jumpers, often acting as a transitional layer during the cooler months. As menswear progresses, guys have become more open-minded and explored wearing knitwear on its on. Designers are using light weight fabrics to innovate during transseasonal periods and allowing men to wear knit tops without overheating. Some designers have gone a step further in creating short sleeve or sleeveless knitted tops.

Although short sleeve or sleeveless knitted tops are no different from a T-shirt or tank top, they do have the ability to present a more refined look because of their luxurious fabrication. This is the conundrum for some guys – they are unsure how to wear them. These kind of knitwear are less casual than a T-shirt or tank top and less formal than a traditional long sleeve cardigan or jumper and anything that is new or a hybrid is always puzzling.

When you find a short sleeve or sleeveless knit top, see it as an opportunity to take your casual T-shirt or tank-top wearing to the next level. Try

1) pairing with a leather bag (to maintain a luxurious look)

2) wearing a shirt under the knit top (this is no different than wearing a jumper over a shirt but because it is short sleeve, it gives a new silhouette)

3) finishing the look with a bold timepiece (since it is not covered, you would want the watch to stand out)
