Landscape intarsia jumper

Because, (Japanese) landscape.

Knitwear are no longer worn as an extra layer to stay warm during the cooler months nor are they only present amongst the preppy crowd. Knitwear has quickly become an alternative piece to the shirt while worn on its own as well as being a handy piece for styling, from draping over the shoulders to knotting around the waist. As technology moves ahead, designers have also become more innovative in delivering knitwear that are more relevant.

From tweaked silhouettes (Acne’s oversized jumpers and Raf Simons short sleeve and sleeveless vests) to texture blocking to bold graphic (Kenzo has championed this in the last few seasons), knitwear has come to hold its own ground. Of course a lot of the inventive prevalence are in high fashion which means most guys are still wearing all-too-familiar jumpers. It is 2015 so forget about the V-necks and cable knits and opt for something that will surprise your mother.

While you get out of that knitwear comfort zone and adorn something that is not just classic but edgy or fun as well, try

1) wearing a jumper on its own (less formal but still highlighting the effort)
2) pairing it with shorts if weather permits (an alternative silhouette and sure conversation starter – “are you hot or are you cold”)
3) going “sockless” (to accentuate your modern dress style – if you are unlucky to have feet that will attract the wrong kind of scent, get a pair of ankle socks)
