Into the blue
Because, into the blue.
Monotone is the style of wearing a singular colour or similar shades in an ensemble (and not the trend of pairing black, white or grey which is monochrome, something that some still get confused with). The idea sounds simple effortless but many are challenged by the prospect of finding pieces that are similar in colour and putting them into a single outfit.
Owing to that fact, committing to monotone sounds labourious but it is a challenge that can be made easy. The important thing to remember is to keep the outfit uncomplicated and work with similar shades, not necessarily just a single colour. Confidence is also key as monotone dressing will turn heads so you need to be prepared for it.
If you are a gentleman who is ready for your first foray into monotone, try
1) adopting a preppy look (this will present you as relevant rather than as a children’s entertainer)
2) breaking up the look with a draped sweater
3) wearing a hat (monotone dressing can come across as quirky so you might as well commit further with a headwear)
