Casual chic
Because, trying hard to be casual.
Casual chic is defined as dressing down in a stylish manner but for something that sounds casual and effortless, it is not merely about throwing on a pair of jeans and T-shirt. Achieving a casual chic look is as much about how you wear the clothes as it is about what you wear.
Attempting to look stylish and effortless is like flossing your teeth. It is easy to do but not everyone is doing it right (google flossing and you’ll realise there is a proper method). Rules like working with colours, prints, silhouette, accessories apply just as much as dressing up for a night out.
When the need to look stylistically casual arises, try
1) wearing colour trousers (this adds a great point of difference)
2) buttoning only the top two buttons of your shirt (one of those “how you wear it” rules where you are trying to look chic in an effortless way)
3) going sock-less or wearing anklets (it accentuates the casualness of the outfit).
