Because, wine looking just as good (as it would taste?)

Although it remains largely underrated and elusive, burgundy is slowly inching its way into menswear as a prevalent colour (remember when Dior Homme sent down an array of wine shirts and suits for SS14?) Unsurprisingly most guys continue to stick with the safe neutrals like black, grey and navy despite burgundy carrying a similar dark tone.

Burgundy can be polarising like red wine itself. While it is opulent and easy to wear it is also very much an acquired taste (but it really comes down to uncharted territory when it comes to working it into your wardrobe). The truth about burgundy is, its dark tone makes it easy to match and unlike black or grey it gives that pizzazz without screaming like vivid colours would.

When you are ready for some wine adventure next time, try

1) keeping the rest of the outfit simple (let the rich burgundy carry your look through)
2) pairing with a bright neutral colour like beige or khaki (neutrals work with anything and bright ones can accentuate the point of difference)
3) taking it to the next level with more colours like sky blue, lush green (because we know how predictable neutrals can be)
.
