Beach to bar and back
Because, from beach to bar to beach.
Resort wear has become a common style with labels like Orlebar Brown and Parke & Ronen designing each collection as year round clothing rather than just for the holiday season. While a sense of relaxation is still fundamental to achieving a resort or beach look, the focus on affluence and style is also paramount.
As much as dressing for resort and the beach is about comfort, it does not necessarily mean you have to reach out for tank tops, board shorts and flip flops. There are options like polo-shirts, tailored shorts, light wear knits and jackets which are equally comfortable if not more.
When summer arrives and you are ready to dress for a resort or beach vacation, try
1) mixing stripes of different sizes or colours (this will maintain a nautical feel but give the look a point of difference)
2) wearing dress sandals (this adds a level of sophistication as opposed to flip flops)
3) knotting a jumper over your shoulders (and achieve that je ne said quoi look)
