Pantone Universe Footwear
Pantone Universe Footwear has released its debut collection for SS16 and as expected, it is an array of vibrant sneakers and sandals.
Many of us are familiar with Pantone, knowing it as the company for all-things colour, including its guides and books, homewares, swimwear and now, footwear.
Launched at Pitti Uomo 88, Florence, last year, the first collection features four styles of sneakers and two styles of sandals. The footwear collection was designed with a “Let Colours Rule” theme where a variety of methods are used to apply the colour.

Our favourite is, of course, the Roland Garros Fade Out Sneakers – as the name suggests, it features an ombre selection of pink, yellow and teal front with a neutral back. The sneakers look like they have been partially dipped in buckets of colour, producing a delightful gradient effect.
The collection’s silhouettes are classic and includes a limited edition made in Japan that feature the use of their patented colour application.
Marrying minimalism with colour is no easy feat but Pantone Universe Footwear has successfully put their spin on creating something simple but memorable.
