Sunday Somewhere Sunglasses
Sunday Somewhere is an Australian sunglasses and optical brand founded by Dave Allison and Carlos Aviles. The pair have previously worked at leading sunglasses brands and when the right time finally arrived, Sunday Somewhere was born.
Allison and Aviles are obsessed with Sunday and the notion of freedom which explains the name. It also references the casual chic of the collection and the campaigns, which often convey the effortless aesthetic of Sunday Somewhere.
Taking inspirations from classic silhouettes, the latest collection, Daydream Believer, sees the brand adding modern details to the range. Anchored with Sicilian origins, the campaign is also shot in Sicily highlighting the khaki, bronze, dusty pink and burnt copper hues of the sunglasses.

CSA and Little God, two of the brand’s most popular styles, come in matte black frames and rose gold lenses in this collection. The Matahari style is also available this season in mirrored lenses and a copper frame.
To capture the moodboard for the imagery, the brand explored the cobblestone streets and returned with images photographed in Taormina and The Scala dei Turchi, Sicily. The end result is sun-drenched and stylised moments reminiscent of old Italian cinema.
Quality and craftsmanship are key to the brand’s ethos – the lenses and acetate are Italian and German hinges are used. The latest collection introduces three styles that are produced in Japan, renown for its manufacturing techniques. The collection is now available in stores and online.
