Dior Homme Gold Bee

Prior to the arrival of Dior Homme’s AW18 collection – Kris Van Assche’s swansong – the French house has released a capsule range titled Gold Bee, featuring classic pieces like suits, knits, shirts, bags, leather goods and shoes.
The bee was first introduced back when Hedi Slimane was at the helm, paying homage to Monsieur Dior’s love for gardening. It’s only fitting that Van Assche takes the house icon and elevate it with 18k gold thread before his exit, alongside other detailing like the «Christian Dior Atelier, 3 rue de Marignan» signature.

I had the opportunity to photograph some of the pieces. Now, if you stalk my life closely – not sure why you wouldn’t if you don’t already – you would realise that I rarely wear black. I’m more partial to vibrant pops of colour like the Dior Homme AW17 collection. But baby, when there’s 18k gold involved, even if it’s a thread, I’m down.
Of course, I put my own spin in this dress up session to include the SS18 roller pouch with Atelier print and footwear from the Newave collection. For those who are wondering what’s going on with the conceptual makeup or Atelier “head” ribbon, let’s just say I’m prepping my way for old age and post-op look. When they say that “Asian don’t raisin”, I was clearly not one of those fortunate ones. *insert sad emoji face*
