Noose & Monkey SS16
What began as a gentleman’s accessories brand, Noose & Monkey quickly identified a gap in the market for expressive tailoring and went on to provide guys who don’t take themselves too seriously with dapper selections.
The SS16 collection is a summer of colour – big, bright and bold. Florals are back in bloom for this season – evening tuxedos are updated with dark blue velvet floral detailing and there’s a gold floral blazer for the guy who dares to take it on. It features gold velvet detailing on the exterior as well as the brand new evening wear linings.
The name Noose & Monkey comes from the tale of the Hartlepool Monkey during the Napoleonic Wars, where the French naval crew dressed their pet monkey in an officer’s uniform. It’s a story that highlights the role our clothes play in identifying who we all are and how the brand focuses on two sides of the tale and every man.

Like previous campaigns, this season’s showcases the brand’s revolution of tailoring. Shot by Haris Nukem, there’s a rebellious and non-conforming element in the imagery. The gritty locations and tattoo-heavy models reinforce the expressive tailoring ethos that the brand is about. Ultimately, the aim is to show that you can wear the collection how ever and wherever you like, as opposed to traditional tailoring which can be restricted to certain settings.
The clothes are cut in a modern skinny fit, and pops of summer tones such as red, pink, sky blue and mustard mean you can dress up or down with ease, and still rock the party. There are also new prints including, star, skull & cross bones and restock of the popular heartbreaker shirt.
This English brand injects attitude and urbanity into its spiffy collections while maintaining an air of sophiscation, and is changing the way we think of suiting and how guys are dressing.
