N-P Elliott SS17
Established in 2013 in New York, N-P-Elliott is the menswear label from Scottish designer Nicholas Elliott. His SS17 collection, presented during New York Fashion Week, features contrasting elements like the mix of formal wear fabrics with religious emblems and cross embroidery.
At first glance, the range comprises of athleisure pieces that are easy to wear and work into your wardrobe but on further inspection, the details make this range stand out. Floral embroidery sits on a sheer top while elongated hooded sweatshirts are cut with a deep v-neck silhouette and emblazoned with emblems and the word HOLY.
Mixing fabrics and tweaking silhouettes, there is a velvet tank top in the range and elasticated athletic shorts and trousers are crafted in formal wear fabrics. One of the stand out pieces is the bold red mohair jumper, tying in a luxury approach to a streetwear vibe.
The colours in this range are varied though the choices lean towards a darker palette – think 70s – like wine, forest green and camel. Prints are equally visual and subtle – an aztec-inspired oversized shirt and red crosses on relaxed trousers round up the SS16 collection.
One of the brand’s mission is manufacturing under ethical standard and fair labour so the pieces are produced in USA and Europe, where attention to detail is crucial. With Elliott’s choices in the finest textiles, including corduroy and silk, source from Japan, Italy and the UK, N-P Elliott is a brand changing the menswear landscape.
