David Hart Spring Summer 2018

The collection: Injecting relevance into classic silhouettes, David Hart created a Caribbean-inspired SS18 collection with knitted polos, Hawaiian shirts with banana prints and linen suitings in coral, salmon and mint.
A plethora of wardrobe staples, models wore woven slip-ons and cravats at the New York Fashion Week Men’s presentation, elevating the relaxing look and reminding us of the label’s aesthetic.
The inspiration: The Spring Summer 18 collection pays homage to Cuba and the world’s view of this island nation. While designer Hart has never been to Cuba – due to the restrictions on easy travel there – he takes inspiration from books, media and cinema and celebrates the colourful and lively culture.
The brand: David Hart founded his namesake label after honing his skills at Anna Suit, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. He remains as one of the few American designers who manufactures in the Garment District, as well producing in UK, Italy and Ireland.
We love: The vertical stripes blazer in a charming toffee and indigo combo is a serious contender for casual perfection. Dress it down with shorts for an easy weekend lunch or spruce it up if you’re heading to a fancy cocktail bar – either way, we love it.
