Carlos Campos AW17

Honduran-born designer, Carlos Campos, showcased his AW17 collection at New York Fashion Week: Men’s, consisting of soft tailoring and fall hues.
Taking inspiration from school uniforms and various cultural references, fabrics like lightweight cotton, silk and felted wools are designed onto relaxed silhouettes. Jackets are elongated and trousers are fuller in volume and cropped.
Hybrid design is something that the designer does well and it’s no exception this season. There’s a kimono bomber, a shirting detailed suit jacket and hi-low trucker. Female models were also sent down the runway showing the versatility of the various pieces.
While grey and dark navy lend a winter theme, Campos includes mustard, mauve and baby blue to highlight his bold use of colours. Vertical stripes and an abstract black and yellow pattern round up the range.
Launched in 2007 in New York, Campos has continued to bring his Latin vision to classic American style. His contribution to the fashion industry has resulted in several awards and accolades both in America and back in his home town.
