BoohooMan Capsule AW16
BoohooMan re-launched this year as a standalone site and returns with a capsule collection for AW16, modelled by actor and recording artist Quincy. It is a collection that references elements from urban, hip hop culture, with hints of old English gent.
Focusing on the brand’s strong outerwear offering, the range consists of oversized silhouettes, neutral tones and plaid fabrics in a casual, contemporary direction. Long overcoats and bomber jackets are paired with slim fit trousers while biker detailing and raw seams give the brand its streetwear aesthetic.
Borg collars, melton wools, heavyweight flannels and distressed denim are key design elements for this collection and Quincy effortlessly pulls off the range, making this range a versatile one that can be dressed up or down.
For those you who’s been living under a rock, Quincy is the son of Kim Porter and singer Al B. Sure! and was adopted by Diddy as a child when Diddy and Porter started dating. Quincy’s cool persona oozes in the imagery and assists boohooMan to move towards a more design, trend led direction.
While the collection brings together texture, silhouettes and influences from different elements, the boohooMan capsule AW16 range is a cohesive one that will translate onto the high street market fairly easily.
