Acne Studios mens SS14
Acne Studios is renown as the purveyor of Swedish minimalism and luxury. What began as a denim brand has now grown into a multi-disciplinary business that is synonymous with cool, edgy and artistic.
Each season, the label offers knits, denim and trousers cut from the same silhouette as past seasons but in different colourway, fabrication or with a tweak in detail. There is also the runway offering which has become more experimental (but still very wearable) over the years in terms of silhouette, fabrication and details.
SS14 is no different and sees Acne Studios appropriating the metallic trend with a gold and silver foil suit, metallic bib shirt and glittery sweatshirt.
The brand also explores the works of artist Hilma af Klint in the SS14 collection. Her colour palette permeates the collection and abstract diagram-esque paintings are printed onto shirtings, sweatshirts and scarves.
Unlike the greyness that people associate with Sweden, designer Johnny Johansson, has crafted a collection that is rich in colours and exaggerated in proportions. As with past collections, this is one season that fashionistas would be spotted adorning from.
