Inspired by the ever-changing lifestyle of the modern man, Stuart & Lau designs bags for guys on the go, helping them navigate their cities with ease and distinction, wherever they may be.

Founders Matthew Stuart Janney and Jimmy Lau were gentlemen on the move themselves and had largely been dissatisfied with the bags and briefcases they were using. Taking cues from their own lifestyle in Hong Kong and New York and the fact that they couldn’t  find anything that exuded style while maintaining functionality, the duo got together to develop a solution.

Merging relevance with classic aesthetics, Stuart & Lau craft their products with quality lightweight and weatherproof materials. “Traditional bags are constructed using a lot of different materials, which helps add structure, but makes them cumbersome and heavy,” Janney says.

The result is a collection of briefcases and weekend bags designed with well thought out details such as an umbrella holder on the back panel, a luggage tag that includes a detachable mini-pin, and a hidden pocket along the top seam where you can store valuable items.

Sourcing from a Chicago-based tannery, the products are made with a rich vegetable tanned leather that provides a beautiful handle and a timeless aesthetic for the style conscious. The thing that stands out is the price point, tying in luxury with affordability.

Stuart & Lau hopes to see their bags in the hands of savvy guys, from Hong Kong to New York and anywhere in between, in the next three to five years. Seeing how cleverly the duo has considered construction, aesthetic, and price point, this will no doubt happen soon.
